Job summary

Malek Fahd Islamic School Ltd (MFIS) is seeking a Wellbeing Coordinator to support student wellbeing, behaviour, engagement and character development across the allocated cohort. The role emphasizes Islamic tarbiyah and the School's educational philosophy to foster adab, responsibility and self-regulation.

The position provides a consistent point of support from everyday wellbeing to complex interventions, with restorative practices, planning and referrals as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of Islamic tarbiyah and Islamic approaches to student wellbeing and character development.
• Completion of, current enrolment in, or willingness to undertake the Graduate Certificate of Education (Islamic Education).
• Ability to apply the MFIS Wellbeing Framework to support student wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and character development.
• Capacity to manage student wellbeing and behavioural matters, including early identification and restorative practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the wellbeing lead for a designated student cohort and support engagement and behaviour.
• Provide day-to-day wellbeing support and escalate complex concerns as required.
• Contribute to restorative practices, documentation and targeted interventions.
• Foster positive student relationships and collaborate with staff, families and other stakeholders.

This position is specifically responsible for the wellbeing of female students.
Leadership Level: Level 2 Leadership Allowance

About the role
The Wellbeing Coordinator is a key student leadership role responsible for supporting student wellbeing, behaviour, engagement and character development across the allocated student cohort.

The role provides a consistent point of support for students across the continuum of care, from day-to-day wellbeing and behaviour matters through to more complex concerns requiring targeted intervention, restorative practice, individual support planning or referral.

Central to the role is Islamic tarbiyah and character formation, supporting students to develop adab, responsibility, self-regulation and positive relationships through an approach grounded in the School's Islamic educational philosophy and values

Selection Criteria

Demonstrated understanding of Islamic tarbiyah and Islamic approaches to student wellbeing and character development, with the ability to ground these in practice.

Completion of, current enrolment in, or willingness to undertake the Graduate Certificate of Education (Islamic Education), with a commitment to ongoing professional growth in Islamic education.

Demonstrated ability to apply the MFIS Wellbeing Framework to support student wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and character development.

Demonstrated ability to manage student wellbeing and behavioural matters, including early identification, intervention, restorative practices, documentation and appropriate escalation.

Demonstrated ability to build positive and respectful relationships with students, staff, parents/carers and other stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to use wellbeing, behaviour and attendance data to identify emerging concerns, monitor student progress, inform interventions and evaluate impact.

Demonstrated ability to support, guide staff in implementing consistent wellbeing, behaviour and student support practices.

Demonstrated confidence and capability in presenting to staff and facilitating professional learning that strengthens wellbeing practice and supports School priorities.

Current NESA accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above.
