Job summary

Federation Council is seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our Engineering Services team in NSW. You will operate and maintain water treatment plants, reservoirs, and pumping stations to deliver high-quality drinking water to the community.

This role requires qualifications listed and a focus on WHS, with on-call duties and overtime as part of the schedule. Competitive hourly rate and statutory entitlements apply.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment (Drinking Water) or equivalent.
• Current Class C Driver's Licence.
• Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Confined Spaces Entry Accreditation.
• NSW Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies accreditation (or ability to obtain it during probation).
• Demonstrated knowledge of water treatment plant operations, maintenance, and WHS practices.
• Proven initiative in problem-solving, process improvement, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Council's water treatment plants, reservoirs, and pumping stations.
• Undertake operational testing and maintain records in line with ADWG and regulators.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and site security; assist with reticulation repairs.
• Adhere to WHS protocols, SWMS, and PPE usage.
• Participate in the Council’s rotational on-call roster and overtime as required.
