Job summary

Ballina Shire Council is seeking a dedicated individual to join the Water and Wastewater team. The role focuses on operating, monitoring and maintaining treatment plants to deliver safe drinking and recycled water services to the community.

You will train and mentor trainees while working closely with your team to meet operational goals. The ideal candidate brings a Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment or equivalent, strong communication skills, and solid digital literacy to support data

Qualifications

• Must have a Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and train staff.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Proven digital literacy with common devices and applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain wastewater treatment facilities to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Identify and resolve faults and respond to operational challenges.
• Train and mentor trainees and guide junior staff as part of a small team.
• Collaborate with the Water and Wastewater Section to deliver high-quality services.
