Job summary

AECOM is expanding its Water Infrastructure Team in New South Wales, Australia. You will lead the design and delivery of comprehensive water and wastewater treatment projects, coordinate from inception to completion, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross‑regional teams.

You will work within a hybrid model across Australia and New Zealand, delivering projects across multiple sectors and ensuring high-quality technical outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and CPEng (or working towards/eligible).
• Experience delivering water and/or wastewater treatment projects within a consulting, design or engineering environment.
• Experience with treatment plant upgrades, renewals, process infrastructure and associated civil works.
• Knowledge of applicable Australian codes, standards and industry guidelines relevant to water and wastewater treatment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• A passion for delivering high-quality technical outcomes and mentoring emerging talent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects, including treatment plant upgrades, renewals and optimisation works.
• Coordinate and manage projects from inception through to completion, including bidding, concept and detailed design, tender documentation and construction phase support.
• Contribute to the planning and design of civil infrastructure associated with treatment facilities, including site layouts, hydraulic structures, tanks, pipework and supporting infrastructure.
• Ensure quality assurance processes are followed, delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and multidisciplinary teams across local, regional and global AECOM offices.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers, supporting technical development and knowledge sharing across the team.
