Job summary

AECOM is expanding its Water Infrastructure team in Australia, seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to provide technical leadership, mentorship, and client-facing delivery on major water projects.

You’ll guide multidisciplinary design work from concept to construction, ensure alignment with Australian standards, and balance quality with schedule and budget while contributing to business development.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in engineering.
• Proven experience leading technical delivery and mentoring teams.
• Knowledge of Australian structural design standards and analysis software such as SpaceGass/Strand7.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural design solutions for complex water/wastewater projects with multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead technical delivery across bids, concept to detailed design and construction support.
• Balance technical quality with programme and budget while applying engineering judgement.
• Mentor engineers and grow in-house capability within the Water sector.
• Support business development through technical input and client engagement.
