Job summary

Bunnings is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to lead daily store operations, sales and high‑volume stock management. You will report to the Site Manager and lead a large team across multiple departments, ensuring safety, high service levels and strong store performance.

You’ll work with Department Managers on Service, Inside the Home, Builders, Timber Yard and more; monitor safety, liaise with Distribution Centres and Support Office, and drive growth strategies for the local warehouse across

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of 50+ team members and leaders to deliver a safe, engaged and high‑performing operation.
• Experience leading teams in the retail industry or a large, high volume customer focused organisation.
• A passion for a Safe & Secure warehouse demonstrated through safety walks, audits and coaching.
• Strong retail understanding, delivering results across sales, margin and wages.
• Ability to coach and develop Department Managers and team members to lift capability and drive performance.
• Experience leading stock integrity, including accuracy routines, investigations and stocktake.
• Ability to drive results through Customer Satisfaction and Team Engagement metrics.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 50+ direct reports, opening/closing the store on weekdays and weekends.
• Conduct safety walks and audits; coach safe behaviours across the warehouse.
• Monitor performance against sales, margin and wage targets; implement improvement plans.
• Identify opportunities to drive sales via merchandising and planning; coach Department Managers.
• Oversee stock accuracy; manage stocktakes and investigations into discrepancies.
• Drive customer satisfaction and team engagement metrics across the operation.
