Job summary

Bunnings is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily store operations, sales and stock management for a high-volume retailer. You will supervise 180+ staff across departments, ensure safety and exceptional customer service, and collaborate with Distribution Centres to support broader growth.

You’ll drive performance, develop department leaders and implement plans that improve store KPIs while maintaining a safe and engaging work environment for every team member.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of 50+ to deliver safe, engaged operations.
• Retail leadership in high-volume environments preferred.
• Strong focus on Safety and Wellbeing with coaching mindset.
• Solid understanding of KPI delivery across sales, margins and wages.
• Ability to develop Department Managers and frontline staff.
• Experience with stock integrity and stocktake processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 50+ direct reports to maintain safety and engagement while managing opening/closing duties.
• Conduct safety walks, risk discussions and coaching on safe behaviours.
• Monitor sales, margin, and wage targets and implement improvements.
• Drive sales through merchandising and strategic planning with coaches.
• Oversee stock accuracy, adjustments, investigations and stocktakes.
• Track Customer Satisfaction and Team Engagement metrics.
