Job summary

Bunnings is hiring a proactive Assistant Site Manager to oversee daily operations, sales, and stock control in a busy warehouse environment. You will report to the Site Manager and lead a large team, coordinating with Department Managers, Supervisors and support staff to deliver exceptional service and ensure safety and efficiency.

The role requires strong leadership, a passion for DIY/building products, and the ability to drive performance while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large teams in a high‑volume retail setting.
• Strong focus on safety, wellbeing and compliance.
• Proven ability to coach and develop Department Managers and staff.
• Understanding of sales, margin and wage targets.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 50+ direct reports and manage duty manager responsibilities.
• Ensure safety walks, audits and coaching of safe behaviours.
• Monitor department performance against sales and margins; implement improvements.
• Drive stock accuracy, investigations into discrepancies, and stocktake leadership.
• Foster customer satisfaction and team engagement through leadership.
