Ballina Byron Islander Resort – Ballina NSW is seeking friendly waitstaff to deliver warm, professional service in our Tavola Restaurant Bar. Greet guests, present menus, and take accurate orders while maintaining high standards.

Ideal candidates have RSA certification, previous hospitality experience, and a proven ability to multitask across tables. Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends, is valued in our casual, customer-focused team.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and seating them in accordance with restaurant layout and service procedures
• Presenting menus and providing knowledgeable recommendations about food and beverage offerings
• Taking accurate food and beverage orders using proper ordering procedures and systems
• Serving food and beverages promptly and professionally, following established service standards
• Checking in regularly with guests to ensure satisfaction and addressing any concerns or requests
• Processing payments and providing excellent customer service during the checkout process
• Clearing and resetting tables to maintain a clean and organised dining environment
• Collaborating with kitchen and bar staff to ensure efficient service delivery
• Adhering to all health, safety and hygiene regulations relevant to food service
• Assisting with general restaurant duties and special events as required

What we're looking for

• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification as a mandatory requirement for this role
• Proven experience working as waitstaff in hospitality settings, preferably in restaurants or licensed establishments
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional and approachable demeanor
• Strong communication abilities and the capacity to work effectively within a team environment
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tables simultaneously
• Sound knowledge of food and beverage service etiquette and standards
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and carry items safely
• Reliability and flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays
• Positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond for guest satisfaction
