The Great Northern Hotel in Byron Bay is seeking enthusiastic Bartenders & Gaming Attendants to join our iconic late-night venue. You will move between delivering exceptional bar service and maintaining a professional gaming environment, ensuring a welcoming and safe experience for guests.

You'll prepare cocktails, spirits, wine and beer with precision, deliver warm service, and thrive in a fast-paced setting while upholding standards and venue procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in bartending, gaming or hospitality environments.
• Strong cocktail and beverage knowledge with bar confidence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and late nights.
• Must hold NSW RSA; RCG/ARCG preferred.

About the Role

As a member of the Great Northern team, you'll play an important role in creating memorable customer experience through quality drinks, genuine service and a safe, professional environment.

You will:

Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, wine and beer with consistency, precision and care.

Deliver warm, intuitive and professional service that makes customers feel welcome.

Work confidently in a fast-paced, late-night environment without compromising quality or service standards.

Maintain exceptional presentation, cleanliness and organisation across the bar and gaming areas.

Build strong product knowledge across all beverage offerings and venue operations.

Work collaboratively with bar, floor and leadership teams to deliver seamless service.

Contribute to a positive venue culture through energy, professionalism, reliability and a team-first mindset.

RCG holders will also:

Assist guests with gaming machine enquiries and provide information in a confident and professional manner.

Monitor the gaming area and ensure it remains clean, organised and presented to a high standard

Maintain strong knowledge of venue procedures, gaming operations and responsible service requirements.

Follow all relevant gaming, RSA, RSG and venue policies and procedures.

Maintain a strong focus on responsible gambling, compliance and guest wellbeing.

About You

You're passionate about hospitality and understand that great service is about far more than simply making drinks. You enjoy creating an atmosphere, connecting with people and taking pride in providing a welcoming and professional experience for every customer.

We're looking for someone who has:

A friendly, approachable and confident personality.

Previous experience in bartending, gaming, hospitality, customer service or a similar role

Strong cocktail and beverage knowledge, with confidence behind the bar.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to remain calm, organised and professional under pressure.

An understanding of responsible gambling, RSA, RSG and compliance requirements.

The ability to work independently and confidently when required.

Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and late nights.

A positive attitude and genuine willingness to learn, develop and contribute to the team.

Must hold a valid NSW RSA. (RCG/ARCG preferred)

Must hold a valid visa with working rights
