Job summary

Kuro Bar & Dining on Kent Street, Sydney, is seeking casual and permanent waitstaff to join our award-winning team. Your main goal is to ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction and provide an outstanding customer experience.

As a front-of-house team member, you will take orders, describe dishes and drinks, deliver meals, handle payments, and work with a passionate team to uphold exceptional standards in service.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience waiting in a well-established restaurant.
• Demonstrated knowledge and passion for cocktails, beer, wine and food.
• RSA certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and lead them to their seats.

Kuro Bar & Dining is looking for casual & permanent waitstaff to join our award-winning team!

Your main goal in this position should be to ensure the highest level of clients' satisfaction and provide an outstanding customer experience.

You will be responsible for tasks such as taking orders, recommending dishes based on guests' tastes and preferences, delivering food to the tables, accepting payments as part of delivering a great guest experience at all times.

Venue

Kuro is an innovative Japanese and modern Australian restaurant located in a heritage space on Kent Street, Sydney. As a team member, you will work with a team of highly passionate and inspired individuals who craft creative food and beverages.

The food menu draws inspiration from our root-to-stem philosophy and is overseen by our Executive Chef Taka Teramoto. With an extensive drinks menu, diners typically enjoy their meals with drinks from our vast collection of cocktails, sake, whiskey, shochu and more from our world-class mixologist or wine list carefully selected from our sommelier.

The Venue operates Wednesday to Saturday with various collaborations and exciting events throughout the year.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Welcome customers and lead them to their seats
• Introduce our menus and describe different dishes and drinks
• Make recommendations on specialties
• Take orders
• Deliver orders to the table in a timely manner
• Adhere to food, sanitary and safety standards
• Inspect the quality and looks of the dishes, making sure they uphold standards
• Identify and resolve any special requirements, wants and needs of customers
• Handle complaints
• Deliver checks and accept payment
• Collaborate closely with other staff members

Key attributes of the successful candidate:

• At least 2 year's experience waiting in a well-established restaurant
• Demonstrated knowledge and passion for cocktails, beer, wine, food!
• Knowledge of cash register and any ordering information system
• Unwavering desire for delivering an exceptional and professional experience for every guest
