Job summary

RAFI URBNSURF, part of Applejack Hospitality in Sydney, is seeking a Head Waitstaff to lead a premium dining team, delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

You will greet guests, coordinate orders, train junior staff, manage floor sections, and ensure safety and compliance with RSA. Weekend/evening shifts apply; salary is 80,000 plus super.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ relevant experience in a comparable restaurant environment.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine and cocktail service.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle high-volume service periods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to delivering outstanding guest service.
• A current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a section of the restaurant floor, ensuring smooth service and high standards are maintained.
• Greet, seat, and engage with guests, providing professional and attentive service throughout their dining experience.
• Take and coordinate food and beverage orders, with detailed knowledge of menus, daily specials, and wine pairings.
• Oversee and support junior wait staff, providing training, guidance, and feedback.
• Manage table allocations, coordinate with the kitchen and bar teams, and ensure efficient service delivery.
• Respond to and resolve guest concerns in a professional and timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, hygiene, and RSA requirements.
• Contribute to maintaining service standards and supporting overall restaurant operations.

We are seeking experienced Waitstaff to join our dynamic team at our premium dining venue RAFI URBNSURF in Sydney Olympic Park.

Located within the iconic Sydney Olympic Park, RAFI UrbnSurf offers a unique space within Sydney's first ever surf park. Blending the opulence of a hatted restaurant with the laid back vibes of a coastal beach town. About The Role

Salary and Conditions

This is a full-time position with an annual salary of $80,000 Grade 4+ plus superannuation, in accordance with industry standards. Weekend and evening work will be required.
