Job summary

Albury Wodonga Health is seeking a compassionate Volunteer Coordinator to lead and support our Palliative Care Volunteer Program. You will recruit, train, supervise and engage volunteers who provide companionship and practical support to palliative care patients, carers and families.

Working with the multidisciplinary team, you will ensure volunteers are well equipped to deliver a high-quality, person-centred service.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating volunteers in a community-based environment.
• Understanding of palliative care and the needs of patients and carers that can be supported through volunteer services.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse client groups and stakeholders while motivating and supporting others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organisation.
• Strong organisational skills, including managing schedules, databases, records and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment, training and ongoing engagement of volunteers in the Palliative Care Program.
• Support supervision, development and wellbeing of volunteers.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver a high-quality, person-centred service for patients and families.
