Job summary

Catholic Healthcare Limited is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to support the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme across NSW, with a primary focus on telephone-based volunteering and remote engagement.

You will recruit, match and support volunteers, conduct interviews, provide induction and training, and build strong relationships with both volunteers and care teams. The role offers hybrid work with occasional office visits and not-for-profit benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working with volunteers/groups or teams is desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated approach with follow-up ability.
• Warm, compassionate and approachable personality.
• Experience in Aged Care and/or Community Services is desirable.
• Strong written and oral communication with volunteers, clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Advertising for volunteers through a variety of channels to target local groups and people.
• Conducting interviews with potential volunteers.
• Matching volunteers to clients according to interests, location, skills.
• Building strong, positive relationships with volunteers through regular telephone conversations.
• Providing induction, orientation and training prior to volunteer commencement.
• Processing and delivering on client referrals from Aged Care facilities and Care Advisors.
• Providing regular, ongoing support for volunteers.
• Maintaining a client/resident referral list.
• Providing regular follow up with clients and residents.
• Promoting ACVVS to Aged Care Providers in the region through industry events.
• Consulting with Aged Care providers to identify clients who could benefit from a volunteer.
• Providing regular and appropriate feedback to providers regarding client referrals and volunteer matching.
• Promoting Catholic Healthcare as a good place to work under ACVVS, by attending volunteer expos and direct contact.
