Job summary

Greencross Vets Wetherill Park is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead a busy small animal clinic. The role combines people leadership, clinic operations, nursing duties, and client care to deliver outstanding patient outcomes and client experiences.

You will coach and develop the team, partner with the Veterinary Director, and drive a positive workplace culture while maintaining high clinical standards. This is a hands-on leadership position with regular nursing and reception shifts.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
• Experience as Practice Manager, Head Nurse, Senior Veterinary Nurse, or similar leadership role
• Confident supporting reception, nursing and operational functions of the clinic
• Strong leadership and people development skills
• Coaching, mentoring and supporting team members
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong organisational and business management capabilities
• Empathy balanced with accountability
• Proactive, solutions-focused and adaptable
• Passion for creating a positive workplace culture and exceptional client experience

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop clinic team members
• Create a culture of accountability, collaboration and respect
• Support recruitment, onboarding, rostering and team development
• Collaborate with Veterinary Director to achieve clinic goals
• Monitor clinic performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Support exceptional client experiences and patient care standards
• Encourage engagement, recognition and team wellbeing initiatives
• Oversee day-to-day clinic operations and administration
• Drive workflow efficiencies and operational excellence
• Remain hands-on with nursing and reception shifts during busy periods
