Greencross Vets Wetherill Park is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead a busy small animal clinic. The role combines people leadership, clinic operations, nursing duties, and client care to deliver outstanding patient outcomes and client experiences.
You will coach and develop the team, partner with the Veterinary Director, and drive a positive workplace culture while maintaining high clinical standards. This is a hands-on leadership position with regular nursing and reception shifts.
Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
- Experience as Practice Manager, Head Nurse, Senior Veterinary Nurse, or similar leadership role
- Confident supporting reception, nursing and operational functions of the clinic
- Strong leadership and people development skills
- Coaching, mentoring and supporting team members
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational and business management capabilities

Our team enjoys the variety that general practice provides, from routine healthcare and preventative medicine through to more complex medical and surgical cases. You’ll be supported by a passionate and experienced team that enjoys learning together and delivering high standards of patient and client care.
This is a full‑time, hands‑on leadership position and would best suit a Veterinary Nurse who enjoys balancing people leadership, clinic operations, nursing duties, and client care.
As Practice Manager, you will be responsible for creating the conditions that allow your team to succeed.
You’ll work closely with the Veterinary Director, nurses, reception team, and regional leadership team to ensure the clinic runs smoothly while maintaining a positive and engaged culture.
Your role will include:
- Leading, coaching, and developing clinic team members
- Creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and respect
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, rostering, and team development
- Working closely with the Veterinary Director to achieve clinic goals
- Monitoring clinic performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Supporting exceptional client experiences and patient care standards
- Encouraging engagement, recognition, and team wellbeing initiatives
- Overseeing day‑to‑day clinic operations and administration
- Driving workflow efficiencies and operational excellence
As a hands‑on leader, you’ll remain actively involved in the clinic’s daily operations. Alongside your management responsibilities, the role will include regular veterinary nursing and reception shifts, supporting the team during busy periods, annual leave, and day‑to‑day clinic operations.
You’ll be someone who enjoys helping others succeed and leads by example.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
- Has previous experience as a Practice Manager, Head Nurse, Senior Veterinary Nurse, or similar leadership role
- Is confident supporting reception, nursing, and operational functions of the clinic
- Has strong leadership and people development skills
- Enjoys coaching, mentoring, and supporting team members
- Has excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Demonstrates strong organisational and business management capabilities
