Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day venue service and direct Venue Attendants during shifts.
• Deliver friendly service and respond to member and guest enquiries, escalating as needed.
• Maintain a welcoming, clean, safe venue including the bar and function areas.
• Coach Venue Attendants and ensure staff understand duties and club expectations.
• Assist with staff induction and training, including cash handling and RSA.
• Monitor shift coverage and report staffing issues to the Venue Manager.
• Oversee bar service and ensure RSA compliance and club procedures.
• Follow till counts, end-of-shift reconciliation and report discrepancies.
• Coordinate bar stock counts and ordering with approved suppliers.
• Respond to social and function booking enquiries through approved channels.

The Venue Supervisor supports the day-to-day operation of Wellers Hill Bowls Club, helping create a welcoming, safe and well-run experience for members, guests and the wider community. The role provides on-shift leadership to Venue Attendants, coordinates bookings and events, and works closely with the Venue Manager to maintain reliable service, sound operational practices and compliance with club and licensing requirements.

Key responsibilities

Coordinate day-to-day venue service and provide clear, practical direction to Venue Attendants during shifts.

Deliver friendly, professional service and respond to member and guest enquiries, feedback or concerns, escalating matters when needed.

Help maintain a welcoming, inclusive, clean and safe venue, including the bar, function areas and shared spaces.

Support, coach and guide Venue Attendants, including Venue Support Attendants, so staff understand their duties and club expectations.

Assist with staff induction and on-the-job training, including customer service, cash handling and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA).

Monitor shift coverage and communicate operational or staffing issues to the Venue Manager promptly.

Oversee bar service and ensure RSA requirements and club procedures are followed, including responding appropriately when service must be refused.

Follow cash handling and point-of-sale procedures, including till counts, end-of-shift reconciliation and reporting discrepancies.

Coordinate bar stock counts and ordering with approved suppliers, and help maintain suitable stock levels and a relevant bar menu.

Respond to and coordinate social and function booking enquiries through the club's approved channels, keeping booking information accurate and up to date.

About you

Experience in hospitality, customer service, events or a similar venue environment.

Experience supporting or supervising a team is highly regarded.

Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, or willingness to obtain and maintain one before undertaking duties that require it.

Confident communicator who can guide a team and build positive relationships with members, guests and colleagues.

Organised and reliable, with the ability to balance service, bookings and operational priorities.

Calm, approachable and solutions-focused when responding to customer or team issues.

Sound judgement and a strong commitment to safe, respectful and inclusive service.

Comfortable using point-of-sale systems, email and basic digital record-keeping.

First Aid certification is desirable; training may be supported where appropriate.

Experience with bookings, cash handling, stock control or bowls club operations is an advantage.
