X-Golf Rockhampton is seeking a Part Time Assistant Venue Manager/Events & Promotions Manager to support daily venue operations and grow the events business. You will lead staff on shift, oversee events, promotions, and memberships, and drive key revenue drivers while ensuring excellent customer experiences.

The role combines hands-on leadership with coordination of events across the venue and local area, using meetings, marketing activity and online communications to measure success against

Qualifications

• RSA certification (Queensland) or willing to obtain before commencing.
• First Aid certificate or willing to obtain.

Part Time Assistant Venue Manager/Events & Promotions Manager

The Assistant Venue / Events Manager supports the Venue Manager in the day-to-day running of X-Golf Rockhampton, Central Queensland's indoor golf and entertainment venue. The role combines hands‑on venue leadership — team supervision, customer experience, operational controls and presentation — with responsibility for growing the venue's events and functions business. The successful applicant will coordinate, promote and deliver events in the venue and throughout the local area, drive the venue's key revenue drivers, and act as the senior person on shift when the Venue Manager is not present. Regular meetings, marketing activity and online communication are central to the role, and performance is measured against agreed key performance indicators.

Key responsibilities

Open and close the venue to documented procedures

Act as the senior person on shift when the Venue Manager is not present, within delegated authority

Attract, organise, deliver and evaluate events including corporate, Christmas, birthday, social, sporting club, fundraising and bucks/hens events

Follow up every event and competition with value-add offers and rebooking opportunities

Promote and run X-League, competitions, memberships, lessons and PGA tuition, junior clinics and birthday parties, and casual play

Promote these drivers through social media and EDM, with specific offers for each

Supervise, coach and support staff on shift

Assist the Venue Manager with rosters within the staffing budget

Maintain a high level of service from greeting, set-up and attentiveness through to payment and farewell

Complete cash handling, banking and reconciliation to procedure, including when the Venue Manager is absent

About you

Current RSA (Queensland), or willing to obtain before commencing

Current First Aid certificate, or willing to obtain

Leadership experience in hospitality, retail or entertainment (e.g. assistant manager, duty manager, store manager, hotel supervisor, events coordinator)
