St John of God Geelong Hospital – Geelong VIC is seeking a reliable Unit Receptionist for the busy Emergency Department. This permanent part-time role offers up to 30 hours per fortnight and includes night shifts, so flexibility and overnight availability are essential.

You will welcome patients and families, manage appointments, answer calls, and provide high-level secretarial support while liaising with clinicians and other health professionals.

• Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in the health industry is a must.

The hospital provides a range of services including an emergency department, day surgery, medical, surgical and maternity services, along with a 24 hour critical care unit and Cath Lab services.

We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and welcoming Unit Receptionist to join our busy Emergency Department. This permanent part-time role offers up to 30 hours per fortnight and includes night shifts, so flexibility and availability for overnight work are essential.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and enjoys being the first point of contact for patients, families, and clinicians. You will provide a professional, compassionate, and efficient service while supporting the wider clinical team.

Permanent Part-Time: Up to 30 hours per fortnight, rostered across a 24/7 schedule, additional hours also available

The Position

Welcoming and assisting patients and visitors.

Managing appointments and maintaining an efficient waiting room.

Acting as the first point of contact for the service.

Answering telephone calls promptly and professionally.

Providing high-level secretarial and administrative support.

Supporting clinicians and allied health professionals.

Liaising with hospitals, referrers, and other healthcare providers.

Efficient and confidential management of patient data, appointments, procedures, clinical files, correspondence, and accounts.

Managing incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes.

Maintenance of patient records and files.

Additional administrative duties as required.

We can offer you

Salary: $60173.45 to $61903.60 per annum(pro rata for part time), plus 12 % superannuation

Salary: $37.94 to $ 39.03 per hour(includes 25% casual loading), plus 12 % superannuation

Permanent part time role and Casual role available
