Responsibilities

• Install underground and overhead telecommunications cables.
• Troubleshoot faults in cables and equipment using testing tools.
• Deploy cables and related equipment from plans and maps.
• Join new cables and perform reinstalls with watertight sealing.
• Install cabinets, distribution points and terminations.
• Terminate network lines at customer premises and sites.
• Test, replace, adjust and repair faulty equipment with instruments.
• Install internal wiring for IPTV, internet and voice services.

COMNIK PTY LTD is a telecommunication contract company located in Perth that has been installing and managing quality telecommunications projects in Western Australia for almost 15 years.

We are a rapidly growing business, and due to increased workload, we are looking for experienced Telecommunications Cable Jointers for telecommunications projects and maintenance works in WA.

Requirements:

• A certificate or higher qualification in Telecommunications Engineering.
• 2 years’ work experience in a closely related occupation, or 5 years to substitute the formal qualification in the telecommunications industry.
• Ability to work outdoors in the heat for extended periods.
• Willingness to travel throughout Western Australia to different sites when required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and a police clearance.
• Hands-on technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to different work environments and learn new technological trends in telecommunications systems.
• Ability to drive long distances when required, including difficult terrain.

What the job entails:

• Installing underground and overhead telecommunications cables.
• Troubleshooting faults in telecommunication cable lines and equipment using ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, and cable fault locators.
• Deploying telecommunication cable lines and related equipment by examining cable plans, civil maps, and specification documents.
• Joining new telecommunications cables and carrying out reinstalls, including watertight sealing.
• Installing communication cabinets, distribution points, and terminations.
• Terminating network lines to telecommunication equipment at customer premises and telecom sites.
• Testing, replacing, adjusting, and repairing faulty telecommunication equipment using electronic instruments.
• Installing internal wiring for IPTV, internet, and voice services.
