Job summary

MJI Group in Australia is seeking a Cabler to join their team on a permanent full-time basis. The role involves installing, terminating and maintaining telecom cabling including fibre optic and structured cabling in line with Australian Standards.

You will install RBS equipment, DC power systems, microwave units and perform testing, fault diagnosis and site handovers. Applicants should have AQF certificates and relevant field experience; salary is AUD 78,000–80,000 per year.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III including at least 2 years on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill level 3)
• Relevant qualifications required however; 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate and maintain telecommunications, fibre optic and structured cabling systems per specs and Australian Standards.
• Install Radio Base Station (RBS) equipment, including Hybriflex cables, coaxial feeder cables and tails, earthing systems, cable trays, diplexers and combiners.
• Install, terminate and commission DC power systems, including rectifiers, batteries and associated equipment.
• Install, terminate and commission microwave indoor and outdoor units.
• Perform testing and commissioning of telecommunications equipment and sites, including PIM, VSWR, sweep testing and call testing.
• Diagnose faults, investigate site issues, replace defective equipment and carry out repairs to restore network performance.
• Install, splice, terminate and test fibre optic cabling and associated infrastructure.
• Install and terminate internal structured cabling for computer networks, telecommunications systems, security systems and fire alarm systems.
• Install and maintain NBN and other telecommunications network cabling.
• Complete site documentation, commissioning records and handover paperwork following installation and testing.
• Ensure all work complies with telecommunications cabling rules, workplace health and safety requirements and Australian Standards.
• Lead installation teams or work independently to deliver projects within required timeframes and quality standards.
