Job summary

Australian Fibre and Wireless – Wakerley QLD is seeking a Telecommunications Technical Officer to install, relocate, and remove cabling and tower-mounted gear. You will work at heights on poles, towers and masts to install antennas, feeders and ancillary equipment for major projects across Queensland, NSW and NT.

Key duties include erecting steel structures, terminating and testing cables, and using cranes or MEWPs where needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in telecommunications rigging industry
• Ability to interpret technical design documents
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• High Risk Work Licence (DG & RB)
• Australian Driver's Licence
• White Card (Construction Card)
• Telstra, Optus and Vodafone safety inductions
• Tower rescue and working at heights certifications

Responsibilities

• Install, relocate and remove telecommunications cabling and tower-mounted equipment

About you

• Minimum 2 years' experience in the telecommunications rigging industry
• Strong experience with Telstra, Vodafone, and Optus equipment
• Ability to interpret technical design documents and install equipment as per design
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work efficiently within a team
• Good communication skills and ability to assist on-site teams as needed
