Job summary

ALL TELECOS PTY LTD invites applications for a Telecommunications Technician/Technologist to join our team at Bella Vista, NSW. The role involves installation, configuration, testing, commissioning and maintenance of telecom systems, plus fault diagnosis and performance monitoring.

The successful candidate will bring at least 1 year of experience, strong knowledge of 4G/5G networks, and the ability to read technical drawings and equipment specs. A current Australian driver's licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, test and commission telecommunications equipment and networks.

About the Role ALL TELECOS PTY LTD is seeking a skilled and motivated Telecommunications Technical Officer or Technologist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide technical support for telecommunications systems and networks, including installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, maintenance, fault diagnosis and network performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities Telecommunications Technician – Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, test and commission telecommunications equipment, network systems and associated infrastructure.
  • Carry out 4G and 5G mobile network upgrade, installation, integration, testing and commissioning works for Telstra, Optus and TPG across customer and project sites.
  • Perform telecommunications upgrade works including antenna, radio, transmission, cabling, power and associated network equipment as required.
  • Undertake NBN installation, upgrade, maintenance, fault-finding and commissioning works across relevant telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support for telecommunications networks, mobile infrastructure, NBN services and associated equipment.
  • Monitor telecommunications network performance and identify service, connectivity and performance issues.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve telecommunications network, mobile equipment, transmission and infrastructure faults.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on telecommunications equipment, mobile network infrastructure and NBN infrastructure.
  • Assess network performance and assist with network optimisation and service improvement activities.
  • Assist with the configuration, integration and commissioning of telecommunications equipment and systems, including 4G/5G radio and network equipment.
  • Identify technical issues during installation, upgrade and maintenance works and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist with the selection, installation and replacement of telecommunications equipment and network components.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, RF/network plans, site drawings, equipment manuals, NBN documentation and technical specifications.
  • Liaise with Telstra, Optus, TPG, NBN-related personnel, clients, suppliers and technical teams regarding installation, upgrade, maintenance and fault-resolution activities.
  • Complete site inspections and identify equipment, cabling, connectivity and infrastructure requirements.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant telecommunications standards, project requirements and company procedures.
  • Comply with relevant Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, site safety procedures, permits and company policies.
Skills & Experience
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience as a telecommunications Technician or in a closely related telecommunications field.
  • Minimum 1 year experience required
  • Strong technical knowledge of Telecommunications systems.
  • Experience with installation, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of telecommunications equipment.
  • Ability to read technical documentation, wiring diagrams and equipment specifications.
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • A current Australian driver's licence is desirable.
