Job summary

Sell & Parker’s Precision Oxycut division is seeking a Laser Operator to join our NSW fabrication team. You will operate laser cutting equipment, overhead gantry cranes, and forklifts as required, ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality cut materials.

The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety, and familiarity with steel plate fabrication processes. Day shift 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a strong commitment to workplace safety and ability to work in a fast-paced

As a Laser Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of laser cutting equipment, overhead gantry cranes, and forklifts when they're required, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality cut materials to meet production demands.

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a similar position, with a sound understanding of steel products and fabrication materials within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

ABOUT YOU

• Demonstrated experience in operating laser cutting equipment and overhead gantry cranes.

• Experience in manual handling.

• Ability to interpret production drawings, cutting programs and work efficiently from nesting layouts.

• Proficiency in the use of precision measuring tolls including verniers, callipers and micrometers.

• Have a strong work ethic

• Ability to effectively plan and prioritise workload to consistently achieve daily production targets.

• Give significant attention to detail.

• Maintain the highest safety standards.

• High level organisation skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.

• Clear problem solver, proven ability to understand and deal with difficult questions or situations.

• Mechanical aptitude.

• Ability to attain and retain fitness for work, including clear Drug and Alcohol Screens

• Currently have the right to work in Australia.

• Pass a Police Check.

Precision Oxycut is a division of Sell & Parker (an Australian owned private company) and has been offering steel plate profiling and processing services since 1970. The company stocks a large range, in different steel plate grades between 3mm-300mm, and operates the largest dedicated steel plate profiling and processing facilities in NSW. Between our Sydney and Carrington plants, Precision Oxycut has the joint capacity to cut over 40,000 tonnes of steel plate per year.
