Job summary

The Salvation Army in Alice Springs is seeking a casual Support Worker for the Women’s Program. You will help residents with daily living tasks, maintain records, respond to incidents, and support case plans in collaboration with case managers and the wider team.

Role requires experience in community services, a relevant tertiary qualification, and ability to work across a 24/7 roster. First Nations awareness and trauma-informed practice are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience within community services and/or a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Experience supporting people transitioning from the justice system or reintegrating after custody.
• Experience working with First Nations people and understanding local Aboriginal communities.
• Sound knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and mental health awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living tasks and maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date client records in electronic systems.
• Respond to incidents, take preventative actions, and escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with case managers and team to support case plan goals.
