Job summary

Asquith Workforce is recruiting for a Permanent Allocator – Scheduler role in Newcastle. The successful candidate will coordinate daily transport requirements, allocate fleet and rail workloads, and respond to changing priorities while ensuring safety and compliance.

You will work with operations staff, drivers and subcontractors to maintain efficient scheduling, accurate records, and high levels of customer service in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Experience within transport, logistics or supply chain operations.
• Experience with fleet or rail allocation – highly regarded.
• Experience using Translogix or another transport allocation/freight management system.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Good Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Planning, prioritising and allocating daily fleet and rail workloads.
• Coordinating schedules to ensure deliveries are completed within required timeframes.
• Rescheduling workloads when unexpected operational changes occur.
• Managing driver availability and allocating fatigue breaks.
• Coordinating subcontractors and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
• Monitoring fleet and rail utilisation.
• Maintaining operational records, timesheets and billing information.
• Completing data entry in freight management systems.
• Troubleshooting operational issues and providing solutions.
• Providing high level customer service.
• Reporting incidents and communicating with stakeholders.
• Supporting continuous improvement across transport operations.
• Ensuring safety and legislative compliance, including Chain of Responsibility and HVL.
• Supporting allocation and operational staff as needed.
