Job summary

J&T Express Australia is seeking a Transport Capacity Planner to support the day-to-day planning and performance management of transportation operations across trunk and branch routes in Sydney. You will monitor timeliness and costs, coordinate with regional teams and carriers, manage carriers and KPI assessments, and use data reporting to improve efficiency.

This role requires proactive communication, basic understanding of logistics, and ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment;

As our network continues to grow, we are seeking a Transport Capacity Planner to support the effective planning, monitoring and optimisation of transportation capacity across our trunk and branch routes.

About the role

The Transport Capacity Planner will support the day-to-day planning and performance management of transportation operations. This role will monitor transportation timeliness and cost data, identify operational issues, coordinate with regional teams and carriers, and use data and reporting to improve transportation efficiency. The role will also be responsible for carrier management and performance monitoring, including KPI assessment, training and ongoing operational support.

Key responsibilities

Develop a strong understanding of the Company's transportation business systems and reporting platforms, and identify opportunities to continuously improve system functionality, reporting accuracy and operational visibility.

Monitor daily transportation performance, including trunk and branch routes, with a focus on timeliness, capacity utilisation and transportation costs; identify, analyse and escalate operational issues where required.

Prepare and monitor regional transportation scheduling KPIs, supporting the achievement of 100% online processing of transportation tasks and 100% online reconciliation.

Manage, supervise and support transportation carriers on a daily basis, including providing training, operational guidance and ongoing performance support.

Prepare and monitor monthly carrier KPI assessments, identify performance gaps and work with relevant stakeholders to implement improvement measures.

Communicate proactively with regional teams and other stakeholders to understand transportation requirements, resolve operational issues and support the efficient allocation of transportation capacity.

Perform other duties as reasonably required by your line manager.

About you

Basic understanding of transportation, logistics or express delivery operations.

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with operational data and identify trends or discrepancies.

Comfortable working with business systems, reporting platforms and data; experience with Excel or other reporting tools is advantageous.

Responsible, adaptable and willing to follow reasonable work arrangements and operational requirements.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
