Job summary

Metro Community Housing in Newtown, Sydney, is seeking an experienced Transitional Housing Officer to manage day-to-day tenancy services across a portfolio of transitional properties. You will be the key contact for tenants and support partners, delivering person-centred, trauma-informed tenancy services that drive safe, sustainable housing outcomes.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in housing or homelessness services (community housing or not-for-profit preferred).
• Certificate IV in Social Housing or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of NSW Residential Tenancies Act and Housing Pathways policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end tenancy services across transitional properties.
• Build strong relationships with tenants, support providers and stakeholders.
• Conduct property inspections and manage rent reviews, arrears and bonds.
• Respond to complaints and complex tenancy matters in a trauma‑informed way.
• Represent Metro Community Housing at tribunals when required.
• Maintain accurate case notes and reporting in Pathways and SDM.
