Job summary

The Toowoomba Regional Council is offering a fixed-term, full-time Traineeship for a Certificate III in Information Technology based in the Toowoomba CBD. You'll gain hands‑on experience, mentor with our Service Desk team and learn how to support staff with everyday technology needs.

You will complete a Certificate III in Information Technology over two years while developing ICT hardware and software skills, customer service, and incident recording in a large organisation.

About the position:

This traineeship is a great opportunity to start your career inIT while completing a Certificate III in Information Technology.You will gain hands‑on experience, receive mentoring from our knowledgeable Service Desk team and learn how to support staff with everyday technology needs.

• To be eligible for this opportunity you must have no previous IT qualifications. We’re looking for someone who is curious about technology, enjoys helping people and is ready to learn.
• This is a fixed term full‑time position based in the Toowoomba CBD for 2 years.
• The weekly salary range for this position is $350.00 -$908.00 depending on your education level and years out of school, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.

How to be successful in this position:

What you’ll learn:

• How to troubleshoot common computer, software and system issues.
• How to provide friendly customer service and technical support.
• How to set up and maintain ICT equipment.

• How an ICT Service Desk supports a large organisation.

The preferred candidate will be required to undertake a Criminal History Check and a pre‑employment medical assessment to assess their ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements of the position.
