Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience within traffic management or similar role.

  • Current PWZTMP qualification/licence.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery and implementation of Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) across multiple construction projects.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, supervisors and traffic control teams.
  • Ensure traffic control arrangements on site are implemented in accordance with approved plans.
  • Manage traffic management permits, approvals, TMPs, SWMS and associated documentation.
  • Ensure traffic operations comply with relevant council, authority and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, current and audit-ready traffic management records.
  • Coordinate changing traffic requirements throughout different stages of construction.
  • Identify operational and compliance risks and work proactively with project teams to resolve them.
  • Develop and maintain traffic staging requirements in line with construction programs.
  • Assist with the allocation and scheduling of traffic controllers and operational personnel.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly traffic management reports.
  • Coordinate and attend relevant traffic and project meetings.
  • Liaise with clients, councils, authorities and subcontractors.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Traffic Operations & Compliance Coordinator to support the planning, coordination and delivery of traffic management across our construction projects.

The primary focus of this role is traffic operations, planning and compliance. You will work closely with Project Managers, site teams, traffic control providers, subcontractors, councils and authorities to ensure traffic operations are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved plans and regulatory requirements.

You will take ownership of traffic management documentation, permits and approvals while coordinating staging and scheduling requirements across multiple active projects.

As part of our broader operations team, you will also work closely with our Allocations Manager, providing support with workforce allocations when required. This may include assisting with scheduling traffic controllers and other operational resources, responding to changes in site requirements and helping ensure our projects have the right people in the right place at the right time.

While allocations form part of the position, traffic operations and compliance will remain the core focus of the role.

Key Responsibilities
Traffic Operations & Compliance

Coordinate the delivery and implementation of Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) across multiple construction projects

Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, supervisors and traffic control teams

Ensure traffic control arrangements on site are implemented in accordance with approved plans

Manage traffic management permits, approvals, TMPs, SWMS and associated documentation

Ensure traffic operations comply with relevant council, authority and regulatory requirements

Maintain accurate, current and audit‑ready traffic management records

Coordinate changing traffic requirements throughout different stages of construction

Identify operational and compliance risks and work proactively with project teams to resolve them

Scheduling & Allocations Support

Develop and maintain traffic staging requirements in line with construction programs

Work closely with the Allocations Manager to coordinate traffic control resources across active projects

Assist with the allocation and scheduling of traffic controllers and operational personnel when required

Help respond to last‑minute changes, absences and changing project requirements

Confirm resource requirements with relevant site and project teams

Assist in ensuring appropriate labour coverage is maintained across projects

Identify potential resource shortages, scheduling conflicts and timeline risks early

Provide additional allocations support during busy periods or when coverage is required

Budgets & Administration

Assist with traffic management account reconciliations

Raise and manage purchase orders as required

Support the tracking of traffic management costs across projects

Maintain accurate records relating to suppliers and subcontractors

Communication & Reporting

Act as a key point of contact for traffic design, operations and compliance enquiries

Prepare weekly and monthly traffic management reports

Coordinate and attend relevant traffic and project meetings

Record and follow up actions to ensure agreed outcomes are delivered

Communicate upcoming traffic requirements clearly across internal and external stakeholders

Stakeholder Management

Liaise directly with clients, councils, authorities and other relevant stakeholders

Develop strong working relationships with traffic control providers and subcontractors

Work collaboratively with project and site teams across multiple projects

Represent Versatile Group professionally in all external interactions

Identify operational and compliance risks relating to traffic management

Monitor WHS and traffic control compliance across projects

Assist project teams in implementing appropriate risk controls

Support incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions where required

Promote a proactive approach to safety and compliance

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

5+ years' experience within traffic management, TGS/CTMP preparation, construction coordination or a similar role

Strong understanding of traffic management regulations, standards and compliance requirements

Demonstrated experience managing TMPs, permits, approvals and compliance documentation

Experience working within construction, infrastructure, civil or traffic management environments

Exposure to workforce allocations, rostering or resource scheduling will be highly regarded

Ability and willingness to support allocations when operational requirements demand it

Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate requirements across multiple projects

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Confidence dealing with clients, councils, authorities, subcontractors and internal project teams

Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying issues before they impact delivery

Competency across Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Experience with project management, rostering or scheduling systems will be highly regarded

Current Prepare a Work Zone Traffic Management Plan (PWZTMP) qualification/licence
