Colac Otway Shire Council seeks a friendly Tourism Assistant for the Great Ocean Road Visitor Information Centre in Apollo Bay. You will welcome visitors, share local information, process sales, and support centre operations to promote our region.

The role focuses on excellent customer service, tourism promotion, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities across information provision and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in tourism, hospitality, events or a similar customer-focused industry.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong administration and computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• An interest in promoting the local region and tourism experiences.
• The ability to multitask, use initiative and work effectively within a team.
• A current driver's licence.

Responsabilités

• Welcome and assist visitors with accommodation, attractions, tours and local information.
• Provide exceptional customer service via face-to-face, telephone and electronic enquiries.
• Support the day-to-day operations of the Visitor Information Centre.
• Maintain tourism and business information databases.
• Process retail sales, cashiering and administrative tasks.
• Promote online services and visitor resources.
• Assist local tourism operators with business listings and marketing opportunities.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative and customer-focused team environment.
