Job summary

Zaab Zaab in Traralgon, VIC, is seeking an experienced Chef to join a busy restaurant. You will work in a fast-paced commercial kitchen, preparing high-quality Thai meals in line with recipes and food safety standards.

Permanent, full-time role offering a competitive annual salary range of 79,550–85,000 AUD plus superannuation, based on skills and experience. Staff meals are provided as part of a supportive kitchen team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to plan and organise food preparation and kitchen activities.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the required standard.
• Preparing ingredients, sauces, stocks, marinades and other components for service.
• Cooking using grilling, frying, sautéing and other techniques.
• Monitor quality of dishes during preparation and presentation.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served within service timeframes.
• Train junior kitchen staff and supervise kitchen operations.
• Maintain sanitation, stock rotation and food safety compliance.
