Job summary

Fook Shing in Kyneton, Victoria, is seeking a Commis Chef to join a contemporary Southeast Asian restaurant and bar. You will work with our kitchen brigade to deliver high-quality dishes and maintain food safety and hygiene.

We welcome someone with a passion for food, some kitchen experience or recent cookery training, and a desire to learn new techniques. The role covers lunch, dinner, and weekend shifts, with a salary of AUD 75,000 to 83,000 plus superannuation.

• Genuine passion for food and cooking.
• Commercial kitchen experience or recent cookery graduate.
• Eager to learn new techniques, flavours and cuisines.
• Able to work under pressure and as part of a team.
• Reliable, organised and takes pride in work.
• Available for lunch, evening and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes to established recipes and standards.
• Assist with mise en place, food preparation and service.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic workstation.
• Support the team during busy lunch and dinner services.
• Follow food safety procedures and minimise food waste.
• Contribute ideas and show willingness to learn and improve.
