Job summary

Talent Matters is seeking an energetic Area Manager to lead and grow the North and West Victoria territory, building lasting relationships with retailers and distributors across major urban and regional markets.

This hands-on, field-based role requires proactive market coverage, identifying new opportunities, delivering sales targets across product categories, coordinating with internal teams, and representing the company at trade shows and events to drive sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in field sales, territory management or account management.
• Experience in sporting goods, FMCG or consumer products is ideal.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel regularly across the territory.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop strong relationships with existing retail and wholesale accounts across the territory.
• Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities to grow sales and market share.
• Achieve sales targets across product categories and distribution channels.
• Plan and manage a regular customer call cycle to maximise territory coverage.
• Deliver product training and effectively communicate product features and benefits to customers.
• Manage the end-to-end sales process from prospecting to ongoing relationship management.
• Monitor competitor activity, market trends and customer feedback.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity reports and forecasts.
