Quantum Support Services in Victoria is seeking a dedicated tenancy advocate to support social housing tenants and private renters. You will provide case management and advocacy to prevent tenancy breakdown and assist clients in dispute resolution, including VCAT processes.

The role requires strong knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and a commitment to supporting disadvantaged clients. A Diploma in Community Services or equivalent is required, with a driver’s license and safety checks as

Responsabilidades

• Provide case management intervention to sustain tenancies at risk of breakdown.
• Advocate for tenants unable to self-advocate in person or by phone.
• Represent tenants in tenancy disputes and coordinate with VCAT where required.
• Engage with stakeholders to support sustainable housing outcomes in Gippsland.

• Supporting Social Housing tenants via an outreach/case management model to establish sustainable tenancies where there has been a history of housing break down.
• Provide case management intervention and support to sustain tenancies that are at risk of breaking down.
• Provide support to Social Housing tenants unable to advocate on their own behalf.
• Provide a wide range of advocacy & support to tenants living in private rental, Caravan Parks & Rooming Houses.
• Work within the confines of the Residential Tenancies Act 1997, The Housing Act 1983 and VCAT Rules & Regulations when advising, advocating and supporting clients.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE – what you will bring.

• Demonstrated relationships with key stakeholders in Gippsland.
• Advanced practical knowledge of the 'Residential Tenancies Act'.
• Ability to effectively communicate with clients experiencing disadvantage in person or via telephone to represent and mediate in the dispute resolution process.
• High level of knowledge and experience in attending the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal on behalf of tenants.
• Knowledge of Social Housing policies & procedures.
• Demonstrated understanding of Case Management.
• Attend the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal to support and advocate on behalf of social housing renters & private renters.
• Advanced working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and the VCAT Rules & Regulations, with the ability to confidently handle complex tenancy issues, disputes and compliance requirements.
• Valid Victorian Driver's Licence |Working With Children Check |Police Check.
• Minimum requirement of Diploma of Community Services or other relevant or appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or experience relevant to this position.
