Komatsu Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Field Service Technician to join the Gunnedah service team. You will work in the field, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining customer equipment, while keeping machines performing at their best and communicating with customers.

The role involves managing your own jobs, staying organized and traveling as needed, with a Monday–Friday roster and overtime opportunities. Komatsu values safety, training and customer-focused service.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mobile Plant Technician or Plant Mechanic preferred.
• Experience as Diesel Fitter or Heavy Diesel Fitter on heavy equipment is advantageous.
• Komatsu experience is a plus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and complete repairs and maintenance on customer equipment.
• Test and adjust machine operating and monitoring systems.
• Provide quality technical field support to customers.
• Assist with larger site-based equipment maintenance projects.

Komatsu is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our Gunnedah Service team.

You’ll be out in the field maintaining, diagnosing and repairing customer equipment, working independently and directly with customers to keep their machines performing at their best.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs and maintenance on customer equipment.
• Testing and adjusting machine operating and monitoring systems.
• Providing quality technical support in the field.
• Assisting with larger site-based equipment maintenance projects.
• Managing your own jobs, paperwork and technical reporting.
• Working directly with customers and providing a high level of service.
• Working safely and efficiently, often with minimal supervision.

Role Located: Gunnedah, NSW

Roster: Monday to Friday – 7am to 15:06, with overtime available

Tools: Tool of trade vehicle, mobile phone and laptop

What we are looking for:

Ideally, you’ll be a qualified Mobile Plant Technician / Plant Mechanic, but we’re also keen to hear from experienced Diesel Fitters and Heavy Diesel Fitters who have worked on agricultural, construction or similar heavy equipment and are interested in making the move into mobile plant.

Komatsu experience would be great, but it isn't essential; we're interested in the skills and experience you can bring with you.

You’ll also need to be:

• Safety focused and comfortable working independently.
• Confident diagnosing and solving mechanical problems.
• Comfortable working directly with customers.
• Organised and able to manage your workload in the field.
• Willing and able to travel and spend occasional periods away from home.
• Able to meet the role's driver licence requirements.
• Willing and able to successfully complete a Coal Board Medical.
