Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or ability to obtain within agreed timeframe.
• Australian automotive trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanic).
• Hands-on dealership/OEM or specialist experience diagnosing mechanical/electrical faults.
• Demonstrated ability to teach using wiring diagrams and technical publications.
• Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills with ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Sound digital literacy across scan tools, diagnostic platforms, LMS and MS 365.

As we continue to grow our presence across Australia, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Technical Trainer to join our team based in Sydney.

About the role

The Technical Trainer develops and delivers practical, technically accurate training that enables JETOUR authorised dealer technicians to diagnose, maintain and repair JETOUR vehicles safely and efficiently. The role builds competence across vehicle systems, diagnostic processes, repair methods, special tools, ADAS and emerging hybrid, battery-electric and high-voltage technologies.

The position delivers instructor-led, virtual and workplace-based learning, conducts valid knowledge and practical assessments, maintains training vehicles, components and equipment and supports dealer readiness for new-model launches. It works with Technical Support, Field, Warranty, Product and JETOUR global teams to keep learning content current and convert field issues into useful diagnostic and repair capability.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instructor-led, virtual and workplace-based technical training in accordance with approved curricula, lesson plans and safety controls

• Demonstrate structured diagnosis, inspection, measurement, disassembly, repair, programming, calibration and verification techniques using approved information and equipment

• Adapt explanations and learning activities to participant experience while maintaining required objectives, technical depth and assessment standards

• Manage class timing, participation, practical rotations and learner support professionally and document attendance, issues and outcomes promptly

• Review global courseware, workshop manuals, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, diagnostic data and repair procedures for accuracy and Australian relevance

• Develop or localise presentations, facilitator guides, participant materials, practical exercises, videos, job aids and digital-learning content

• Conduct knowledge, diagnostic and practical assessments consistently using approved tools, evidence requirements and reasonable assessment conditions

• Prepare and maintain training vehicles, cutaways, components, diagnostic equipment, special tools, workshop consumables and learning spaces

• Complete pre-course equipment checks, risk assessments and practical-activity briefings and stop work when conditions are unsafe or controls are ineffective

• Gather learner, dealer and field feedback and analyse assessment and course data to improve content, exercises, delivery and learner support

About you

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or commitment and ability to obtain the required credential within an agreed timeframe

• Australian-recognised automotive trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Automotive Electrical Technology or an equivalent discipline

• Substantial hands‑on dealership, OEM or specialist technical experience, including diagnosis of complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults

• Demonstrated ability to teach and demonstrate diagnosis and repair using wiring diagrams, technical publications, diagnostic data and approved procedures

• Strong facilitation, coaching and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to technicians at different capability levels

• Sound digital literacy across scan tools, diagnostic platforms, virtual delivery, learning systems and Microsoft 365 applications

• Current Australian driver licence and ability to travel regularly

• Previous automotive OEM or distributor technical‑training, master‑technician, diagnostic or field‑support experience (desirable)

• Experience teaching ADAS, vehicle networks, infotainment, hybrid, battery‑electric or high‑voltage vehicle systems (desirable)

• Experience developing instructor‑led, digital or video learning content, practical exercises and competency assessments (desirable)
