Job summary

AFGRI Equipment, a leading John Deere dealer in Western Australia, seeks a Technical Support Specialist focused on combines and training delivery. The role involves training staff on John Deere equipment, developing CDI credentials, and coordinating training events across branches.

You will mentor apprentices and service technicians, support field technicians, and maintain knowledge of Precision Ag technology. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• John Deere equipment and systems experience is a must.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in repair of ag and turf equipment.
• Ability to analyse, interpret and relay information in a timely manner.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Train staff on John Deere and premium equipment.
• Develop as John Deere CDI and deliver approved training.
• Set up and prepare training events and support factory training.
• Mentor Apprentices and Service Technicians.
• Support technicians remotely and in-field with diagnosis and repair.
• Maintain knowledge of John Deere equipment and Precision Ag Technology.
• Use Expert Connect for communications.
• Provide support within the team for DTAC/CCMS.
• Communicate bulletins and DTAC/DPAC solutions to branches.
• Maintain cooperation with all departments and customer relations.
• Coordinate with service managers to track Product Improvement Programs.
• Ensure New Model Qualifications on supported equipment are met.
• Execute other duties as assigned by management.

AFGRI Equipment is a global agricultural company and the largest John Deere dealer in Western Australia. We supply quality agricultural equipment, service and parts tailored to the need of farmers.

Our Head Office in South Guildford is seeking Technical Support Specialist with a specialisation in Combines to join our team.

Job Responsibilities

• Train staff on all matters related to John Deere and other premium suppliers’ equipment, required for the development of skills and knowledge.

• Be able to develop as a John Deere CDI (Certified Dealer Instructor) and deliver John Deere Approved training.

• Setup and prepare training events, including communication and support of factory training events.

• Mentor Apprentices and Service Technicians.

• Support technicians remotely & in-field with diagnosis and repair as required.

• Maintains current knowledge & Training levels of John Deere equipment, including Precision Ag Technology.

• Use Expert Connect for all incoming & outgoing communications.

• Provide support within the team in systems such as DTAC/CCMS.

• Communicate technical bulletins and Case Contact Management System (DTAC & DPAC) solutions, related to equipment of responsibility, to all branches.

• Maintain good cooperation and communication with all company departments.

• Maintain good customer relations, when present at machines.

• Works with service managers to ensure there are no expired Product Improvement Programs (PIPs).

• Ensure that all New Model Qualifications on supported equipment are met.

• Execute other duties as assigned by management.

The successful applicants will have

• John Deere equipment and systems experience a must.

• Extensive experience in ServiceADVISOR™/ Service Center.

• Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment. (5+ Years post qualification).

• Expert knowledge of John Deere combines.

• Ability to analyse, interpret and relay information in a timely manner.

• Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.

• Ability to work in a team environment and assist team members when required.

• Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups.

• Set up and prepare training material and presentations.

• Strong time management skills with a high attention to detail. (Previous Service Management experience looked upon favourably).

• Willing to travel when required.

• Follow DTAC’s and Expert Alerts and give support on them.
