Job summary

Boral Cement in Melbourne is seeking a Technical Sales Manager to plan and coordinate product development, innovation and market applications for Victorian cement products. You will work with Sales and Account Managers, travel regularly, and receive a $21,250 motor vehicle allowance to support field activities.

The role requires a strong technical background in concrete technology and product quality, with commercial acumen and the ability to interact with customers and industry bodies.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in a Science, Sales or Engineering discipline.
• Solid understanding of concrete technology, with a strong technical background and understanding of mix design, development and product quality investigations.
• Commercial acumen with strong influencing skills.
• Familiarity with construction materials, mining and manufacturing industries.

Responsibilities

• Customer support and liaison – Provide technical support as the first contact including product range, mix designs, defect inspections and remedial action advice.
• Sales support and market acceptance - Assist with sales/presentations as a technical expert providing design support to sales and account teams.
• Product Quality – Monitor product quality and work with laboratories and production to meet high standards, drive product modifications and improvements.
• Industry representation - Represent Boral Cement on industry bodies such as Cement Concrete and Aggregates Australia and Standards Australia.
• Strengthen Boral Cement’s brand equity and reputation with customers through regular contact with customer executives.
• Sales and Operations planning – collaborate to optimise cementitious setting changes across Boral’s network.
