Job summary

Hoban Recruitment is assisting a leading global manufacturer of scientific instruments in Sydney to hire a Junior to Mid Level Technical Sales Representative. You will learn from experienced engineers, support customers, promote technologies, and build long-term relationships with researchers and industry professionals.

This role offers full product training, opportunities to travel across Australia, and a clear career path in technical sales.

Qualifications

• Degree or qualifications in Electric and Mechanical or Mechatronics, Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and genuine interest in developing a career in technical sales.
• Good problem-solving, organisational, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.
• Full Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel.
• Some experience of instruments is plus

Responsibilities

• Learn and promote the company's scientific and analytical instruments.
• Support customers by understanding their needs and recommending suitable products.
• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.
• Visit customers and assist with product demonstrations alongside the engineering team.
• Prepare quotations and follow up on sales opportunities.
• Work closely with technical support and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Identify potential new business opportunities and develop new customer relationships.
• Keep customer records and sales activities updated in the CRM system.
• Attend trade shows, seminars, and industry events.
• Travel within Australia to meet customers
