Sabrands is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead the technical function across food, beverage and household cleaning products. You will set direction, decide on significant product and risk matters, and partner with major customers and contract manufacturers.

You will work closely with the Food Safety, Quality & Compliance Manager to manage day-to-day quality systems, compliance and certification, while driving technical excellence across NPD and regulatory affairs.

Qualificações

• Proven ability to set technical strategy for food, beverage and household products.
• Strong knowledge of FSANZ requirements, labeling rules and allergen management.
• Experience leading a technical or quality function within FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to manage product claims and regulatory compliance.
• Experience auditing and coordinating contract manufacturers and suppliers.

• Lead regulatory matters across food, product claims, export and cleaning products.
• Direct the technical workstream across NPD and provide final sign-off at key development stages.
• Approve significant product, supplier and manufacturing changes.
• Oversee quality systems, audit programs and systemic improvement priorities.
• Lead product recall, withdrawal and technical crisis decisions.

Sabrands is a privately owned Australian FMCG business behind well-known brands including Rosella, Sunraysia, Devondale Sparkling Juice, Blue Banner, CLR and O’Cedar.

We manufacture through approximately 12 domestic and international contract manufacturers and supply customers across grocery, hardware, food service and export channels.

We are now looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead our technical function and strengthen our capability across product development, customer engagement, regulatory compliance and contract manufacturing.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you will be accountable for the technical integrity of our food, beverage and household cleaning products.

This is a hands‑on senior role with genuine technical authority. You will set direction, make significant product and risk decisions, lead complex technical matters and represent Sabrands with major customers and manufacturing partners.

You will lead and work closely with our Food Safety, Quality & Compliance Manager, who manages day‑to‑day quality systems, compliance and certification.

What you’ll bring

• A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry or a related discipline
• HACCP certification
• At least eight years’ technical, food safety or quality experience in FMCG or food manufacturing
• At least three years’ experience leading a technical or quality function
• Strong knowledge of FSANZ requirements, labelling, allergens and product claims
• Experience managing contract manufacturers and meeting major Australian retailer standards
• Experience leading significant incidents, recalls and technical investigations
• Confidence presenting to customer technical teams and senior stakeholders
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to make clear, timely decisions
• A lead auditor qualification and experience in export, international auditing or cleaning and chemical product compliance would be highly regarded.
