Job summary

Sabrands is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead the technical function across food, beverage and household cleaning products. You will set direction, decide on significant product and risk matters, and partner with major customers and contract manufacturers.

You will work closely with the Food Safety, Quality & Compliance Manager to manage day-to-day quality systems, compliance and certification, while driving technical excellence across NPD and regulatory affairs.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to set technical strategy for food, beverage and household products.
• Strong knowledge of FSANZ requirements, labeling rules and allergen management.
• Experience leading a technical or quality function within FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to manage product claims and regulatory compliance.
• Experience auditing and coordinating contract manufacturers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical and quality strategy across the product portfolio.
• Hold overall accountability for product safety, quality, compliance and technical risk.
• Act as the senior escalation point with authority to hold or stop product releases.
• Lead technical engagement with major retail, hardware, food service and export customers.
• Oversee the approval, auditing and performance of domestic and international contract manufacturers.
• Lead regulatory matters across food, product claims, export and cleaning products.
• Direct the technical workstream across NPD and provide final sign-off at key development stages.
• Approve significant product, supplier and manufacturing changes.
• Oversee quality systems, audit programs and systemic improvement priorities.
• Lead product recall, withdrawal and technical crisis decisions.
