Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Technical Director with a strong Building Services background to join our national Building Engineering team in Australia. This senior role combines technical leadership, design direction, project delivery, client engagement and business development across major projects.

The role can be based in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Canberra or Adelaide, with a hybrid work model and opportunities to lead multidisciplinary teams while driving strategic growth for the business.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Fire/Hydraulics Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer with relevant registrations.
• 20+ years in Australian building services.
• Proven senior technical, project or business leadership.
• Strong commercial understanding including budgets and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical and design leadership across major Building Engineering projects.
• Lead project teams and oversee delivery of a portfolio.
• Engage with clients to understand needs and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Lead design management and technical reviews.
• Support business development and work-winning through client engagement.
• Identify opportunities to grow services with existing and new clients.
• Provide commercial oversight including budgets, pricing, contracts.
• Build high-performing teams and mentor junior staff.
