Job summary

Unisys is seeking an Onsite Service Technician to provide hands-on hardware repair across Cairns and nearby areas. You will diagnose, repair, and replace components in laptops and desktops, while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

The role requires 1–2 years in hardware repair or field services, with strong troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of Windows environments. A valid Australian driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Cairns region are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical certification or vocational training preferred.
• 1-2 years in computer hardware repair or field services.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding across laptop/desktop hardware.
• Experience installing/replacing hardware components (motherboards, screens, batteries, SSDs, memory).
• Good understanding of Windows OS and desktop computing environments.

Key Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.

Technical certification, Associate Degree, or relevant vocational training preferred.

1-2 years of experience in computer hardware repair, field services, desktop support, or technical support environments.

Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across laptop and desktop hardware.

Experience installing and replacing hardware components such as motherboards, screens, batteries, keyboards, SSDs, and memory modules.

Good understanding of Windows operating systems and desktop computing environments.

Experience working with Dell, Lenovo, or other major OEM hardware platforms is highly desirable.

Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple onsite service requests.

Current Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel throughout the Cairns region.

OEM or manufacturer certifications are advantageous.
