Job summary

EHW Technology is seeking an IT Support & Computer Technician to join the Mackay team. This hands-on role covers technical support, troubleshooting, computer repairs, equipment setup and onsite customer assistance.

The ideal candidate will be good at problem solving, manage multiple jobs, and communicate clearly with customers while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting computer hardware and software.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
• Current Open Driver Licence.
• Formal qualifications are useful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
• Diagnose and repair desktops, laptops and other IT equipment.
• Install and configure Windows, software and customer devices.
• Provide technical support over the phone, in person and via email.
• Attend customer sites for deployments and technical support.
• Manage multiple workshop jobs and priorities.
• Keep customers informed about their jobs.
• Explain technical issues in a way customers can understand.
• Keep accurate job notes, service records and timesheets.
• Assist customers with IT products and general technical enquiries.

Job description

EHW Technology is looking for an IT Support & Computer Technician to join our Mackay team.

This is a hands-on IT role covering technical support, troubleshooting, computer repairs, equipment setup and onsite customer support.

We’re looking for someone who is good at working through problems, can manage multiple jobs without losing track of priorities, and is comfortable dealing directly with customers.

The role

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
• Diagnosing and repairing desktops, laptops and other IT equipment
• Installing and configuring Windows, software and customer devices
• Providing technical support over the phone, in person and via email
• Attending customer sites for deployments and technical support
• Managing multiple workshop jobs and keeping track of priorities
• Keeping customers informed about their jobs
• Explaining technical issues in a way customers can understand
• Keeping accurate job notes, service records and timesheets
• Assisting customers with IT products and general technical enquiries

What we're looking for

Experience

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience troubleshooting computer hardware and software
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows
• Experience setting up computers, software and related equipment
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• A current Open Driver Licence

Formal qualifications are useful, but we're also interested in people who have developed solid technical skills through practical experience.

Hours

This is a full-time position based in Mackay, working Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, with rostered Saturday mornings from 9am to 12pm.
