About House of Pickle

House of Pickle (HOP) is one of the leading dedicated pickleball and padel operators in the APAC region. We’re passionate about creating welcoming community spaces where people can play, connect and enjoy racket sports.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for enthusiastic, customer‑focused and commercially minded people to join our Salisbury Downs team. Whether you're an experienced coach, hospitality professional or someone who loves sport and working with people, we want to hear from you.

The Role

Our team members are the face of House of Pickle. This is a hands‑on, varied role combining hospitality, sport, customer service and venue operations.

You’ll help create an environment where beginners feel welcome, regular players keep coming back, and businesses and community groups enjoy memorable experiences.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Hospitality
  • Welcome customers, manage check‑ins and assist with bookings.
  • Deliver friendly, professional customer service across all areas of the venue.
  • Serve alcohol responsibly in accordance with South Australian liquor licensing requirements.
  • Assist customers with enquiries, equipment and general venue information.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming venue.
Pickleball Coaching & Programs
  • Deliver engaging Intro to Pickleball sessions for beginners.
  • Guide open‑play sessions, explain the rules and help players of different abilities feel comfortable.
  • Get involved on court, play with customers and help create a fun, social atmosphere.
  • Support coaching sessions, clinics and player development programs.
  • Help build an active and inclusive pickleball community.
  • Take a proactive, sales‑focused approach to customer interactions.
  • Promote memberships, bookings, programs, events and venue offerings.
  • Identify opportunities to convert enquiries into bookings and encourage repeat visits.
  • Optimise court calendars and session schedules to maximise utilisation and revenue.
  • Assist with waitlists, customer follow‑ups and filling available court time.
Events & Venue Operations
  • Help organise and run corporate events, private functions and group bookings.
  • Coordinate social leagues, competitions and tournaments.
  • Assist with event setup, customer coordination and on‑the‑day delivery.
  • Support daily venue operations and work collaboratively with the wider HOP team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and venue performance.
What We’re Looking For
  • A friendly, energetic and proactive personality.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • A commercial mindset and confidence promoting products, programs and bookings.
  • An interest in sport, fitness, hospitality or community engagement.
  • The ability to take initiative, solve problems and work independently.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
  • A team‑first attitude and willingness to get involved wherever needed.
  • A current South Australian Responsible Person badge or other applicable RSA qualification/authorisation, as required for the duties performed and the venue’s licence conditions.
  • A current RSA competency recognised in South Australia, where required for the role.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
  • A willingness to complete any relevant venue, safety and operational training.

Pickleball experience is an advantage, but not essential for every position. We're happy to hear from people who are keen to learn, get involved and grow with us.

Coaching applicants should also demonstrate suitable playing ability, communication skills and the confidence to guide players on court. Previous coaching or sports instruction experience is highly regarded.

Why Join House of Pickle?
  • Be part of a growing sports and hospitality business.
  • Work in a fun, social and community-focused environment.
  • Help introduce more people to pickleball and build a thriving local community.
  • Opportunities to develop skills across coaching, hospitality, events and venue operations.
  • Opportunities for career progression as the business and venue grow.
