Job description

Group Business Development and Marketing Manager

This is the role that turns Racquet Club's momentum into a national success story. You'll help drive revenue streams beyond day-to-day venue operations — memberships, court bookings, coaching, leagues, events, corporate sales and sponsorship — be part of setting the commercial direction for the whole group. You'll shape strategy alongside the executive team, then get stuck into the campaigns, deals and content that bring it to life.

Your mission is simple: grow the business. Win the corporate market: build a pipeline of corporate bookings, team events, functions and company memberships that keeps our courts busy and our calendar full. Land the big partners: secure and grow sponsorships and brand partnerships at national and venue level, and make every partner proud to be on our courts. Build the name: make Racquet Club synonymous with padel in Australia, the first club people think of when they want to play. Fill every court: lift utilisation across Sydney, Canberra, the Gold Coast and every new venue we open, from peak-time prime slots to quiet weekday mornings.

Key responsibilities

Build and own the annual group sales and marketing plan, budget and targets, aligned to the expansion roadmap.

Set revenue targets by venue and channel, and report performance to the directors monthly.

Recruit, lead and develop a sales and marketing team, plus agencies and freelancers.

Work closely with the Country Manager and venue teams so marketing promises match the on-court experience.

Own the Racquet Club brand: positioning, voice, visual identity and consistency across all venues.

Plan and run integrated campaigns across social, paid digital, search, email, PR and local activations.

Manage the content engine: photography, video, creators and ambassadors.

Own the website, booking funnel and CRM, and optimise conversion from first visit to repeat player.

Drive membership acquisition, retention and upgrades, with clear pricing and offer strategy.

Build a corporate and events pipeline: team building, corporate memberships, private hire and functions.

About you

6+ years in sales and marketing, with at least 2 in a senior leadership role owning revenue targets.

A track record in multi-site consumer businesses: fitness, sport, hospitality, leisure or membership clubs.

Proven results growing memberships or subscriptions and lifting utilisation.

Experience selling and managing sponsorships or brand partnerships.

Experience launching new sites or entering new markets is highly regarded.

Strong command of digital marketing: paid social, search, CRM, email automation and conversion optimisation.

Commercially sharp: comfortable with budgets, pricing, forecasting and P&L impact.

Confident negotiator and presenter with corporate clients and sponsors.

Data-literate: you make decisions from booking, CRM and campaign data.

Builder mindset: you thrive in a fast-growing business without a large team behind you.
