Job summary

South Burnett Regional Council seeks a Team Leader based in Wondai to provide skilled support to Supervisors and operational teams delivering construction and maintenance activities. You will lead the efficient operation of plant across state and council transport assets and supervise work sites, driving performance and safety.

The role is permanent full-time, offering a salary of $70K-$79K per year plus allowances and superannuation, and requires MR truck license and construction industry

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership skills with ability to motivate and drive performance.
  • Experience operating mobile plant in construction/maintenance.
  • Knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques.
  • Ability to perform pre-start inspections on heavy equipment.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy; good communication.
  • Ability to complete works on time to standards.

About the role

Based in Wondai

Permanent - Full Time

$70K - $79K per annum + Allowances + Super

Council is seeking a Team Leader to provide skilled support to Supervisors and operational teams responsible for the delivery of construction and maintenance activities. This role is responsible for providing efficient operation of plant in the delivery of activities across State and Council controlled transport assets and leading operations on the work sites. The successful applicant will ideally have experience in sealed pavement operations and demonstrate sound working knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques and guidelines, proven leadership capability with the ability to motivate teams and drive high performance.

Mandatory Qualifications

Truck (MR) driver’s licence

General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) Certification

Desirable Qualifications

Traffic Control Ticket (Level 1)

Certificate III in Civil Construction

Proven leadership skills with the ability to stimulate a high level of performance and foster teamwork within a small team.

Demonstrated experience in the effective operation of mobile plant within construction / maintenance environment together with knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques and standards.

Demonstrated ability to maintain and service heavy plant and equipment (including pre-start inspections)

Basic literacy, numeracy and oral communication skills.

Ability to complete assigned works duties on time and within required standards.
