Job summary

Fraser Coast Regional Council is seeking a safety-focused Plant Operator for Maryborough to support road construction and drainage projects. You will operate council plant, perform pre-start checks and maintenance, and work with a team to deliver high-quality community services.

The role offers permanent full-time employment, an annual salary of $74,161 plus superannuation, plus an annual allowance and a 9-day fortnight, with additional benefits and flexible work options where possible.

Qualifications

• Current General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Valid HC licence recognised in Queensland.
• Plant operation competency or statements of attainment for excavator operation.
• Demonstrated experience operating plant and fleet in road construction, maintenance or drainage environments.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
• Sound knowledge of WHS, environmental and risk management practices.
• Well-developed communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to use mobile devices and electronic work management systems.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a safety-focused and reliable Plant Operator to join our Works Operations team. In this role, you will undertake road construction and maintenance activities using Council plant and equipment while contributing to the delivery of quality services for our community. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced operator who enjoys working outdoors, can work autonomously and as part of a team, and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes. While no grader or tractor experience is required, excavator experience would be a strong advantage.

What Your Day Will Look Like

• Operate plant and fleet for road and drainage construction and maintenance works.
