Job summary

South Burnett Regional Council in Nanango, QLD, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to coordinate and manage civil projects within the Works portfolio. You will oversee streetscaping, water infrastructure, and recreational facilities, delivering multiple projects under the Council’s PM framework.

Based in Nanango, you will bring 5–15 years’ civil project management experience, preferably with local government or utilities.

Qualifications

  • Current C Class driver’s licence.
  • White Card – General Safety Induction for Construction Worker Certification.
  • Diploma in Project Management is mandatory.
  • Certificate IV in Civil Construction and Supervision is mandatory.
  • Degree Qualifications in Engineering and Project Management are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage projects and programmes within the Works portfolio.
  • Deliver multiple civil works projects in streetscaping, urban/rural civil works, water infrastructure and recreational facilities.
  • Adhere to the Council’s project management framework across a growing region.
  • Bring 5–15 years’ civil engineering/project management experience, preferably in local government, utilities, or private sector infrastructure.

$108K - $114K per annum + Allowances + Super

Council is seeking an experienced project manager to coordinate and manage projects and programmes within the Works portfolio, including major streetscaping, urban and rural civil projects, water infrastructure and recreational facilities. The role will deliver multiple civil works projects simultaneously in accordance with Council’s project management framework across a growing region. The successful applicant will have 5-15 years’ experience in a civil engineers/project managers role with a background in local government, utilities, or private sector infrastructure.

  • Participation in after hours and weekend work is a requirement of this position

  • Minimum requirement of a current C Class driver’s licence.

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated relevant project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously including the scoping, planning and efficient utilisation of resources.
  • Proven success in the delivery of efficient and timely municipal road construction and maintenance projects in accordance with industry standards.
  • Well-developed oral and communication skills including a high level of attention to detail and research skills.
  • Sound level of computer skills including knowledge of the MS Office Suite and Corporate Software Systems.
  • Excellent time management skills to achieve proficiency and effectiveness in establishing and managing work priorities and meeting deadlines.
